What is Evo?

The Evolution Championship Series (Evo for short) represents the largest and longest-running fighting game tournaments in the world. For over 20 years, Evo has brought together the best players from around the world in an electric weekend of fun and competition.

Evo plays host to fighting game players and fans in a prestigious series of open bracket tournaments to crown annual World Champions. In addition to the competition, Evo is a celebration of fighting games and the rich culture surrounding it. Evo 2024 is that event!

For those that can’t make it, Evo 2024’s competitions will be streamed live on Twitch and YouTube.

WHEN AND WHERE IS EVO 2024?

Evo 2024 runs from Friday, July 19, 2024 through Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, West Exhibition Hall. This year, Top 6 Finals for each Evo title will take place in the new arena experience within the same West Exhibition Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. The venue is located at 300 Convention Center Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89109, USA.

Yes. Tournament finalists win medals, trophies, and their share of that tournament’s $30,000 minimum guaranteed prize pool. The prize money is split between the top 8 finalists in each tournament.

HOW DO I ATTEND EVO 2024?

You can attend Evo 2024 by purchasing a ticket for the event at start.gg/tournament/evo-2024/details. You can pick up your tickets on-site starting the day before the event. Your ticket will come with a lanyard, badge, and water bottle.

“Wait, do I need anything else?”

Nope! Your Evo badge will get you access to the Evo show floor, tournament areas, and the brand new Arena Finals Experience. You should bring your own controller if you’re competing or want to utilize the free play consoles.

Badges also grant entry into the Cosplay Contest, Bring Your Own Console and Community Showcase areas, and other on-site activities. All badges include reentry. All attendees who want to exit the show floor or Arena Finals Experience and return at a later time will be able to do so.

Badges must be worn around the neck and be fully visible at all times in the Convention Center. Badges are only valid for a single individual.

‍

“What about refunds, exchanges, transfers, or cancellations?”

All ticket sales are final. No refunds, exchanges, or transfers will be available. In the event Evo 2024 is canceled, your ticket will be refunded. There is no authorized resale of any Evo tickets. Please note that tickets for Evo 2024 not purchased via start.gg/tournament/evo-2024/details are not permitted.

Anyone caught reselling tickets or credentials will have their access revoked and not be permitted into the event for the remainder of the weekend.

“What if I lose my badge?”

You are responsible for your badge. Lost or stolen badges cannot be replaced or refunded.

“Do my friends and family need passes?”

Yes, everyone needs to be in possession of a badge to attend Evo 2024.

“Can children attend Evo 2024?”

Children under the age of 6 can attend Evo for free with any badged parent or adult legal guardian. Any child over the age of 6 will require a badge to enter the convention floor.

WHERE CAN I PICK UP OR PURCHASE MY BADGE?

You can pick up your Event Badge, at the Registration desk. You will need a valid ID (Passport, Driver’s license, or State ID) and the email confirmation you received from your start.gg registration. You can only pick up badges for yourself or individuals you are legally responsible for.

If you haven’t purchased a badge, the registration desk will have a separate area for spectators to purchase badge(s)

The Registration desk is located within the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall and will be open Thursday, July 18 to Sunday, July 21 with exact hours to be updated.

WHAT IS THE DEADLINE FOR TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION?

Evo is an open tournament with all eligible players required to register via start.gg/evo. After Registration closes, no one is allowed to register for Evo 2024’s main lineup tournaments.

Early Bird registration is available until March 9, 2024 at 11:50pm PDT.
Normal Registration is available from March 9, 2024 at 11:51pm PDT to May 31, 2024 at 11:50pm PDT.

Late Registration is available from May 31, 2024 11:51pm PDT to June 24, 2024 at 11:50pm PDT.

‍

Please remember that you must be at least 13 years or older to enter Evo 2024’s tournaments. If you are younger than 13, you will need your parents to sign paperwork for you to compete and be on-site at the event chaperoning your experience.

WHAT IS THE EVENT SCHEDULE?

A detailed schedule of the event, including tournament pool times, will be available closer to the event. For a general schedule, the event will open at 8:30am PDT and close at 10:00pm PDT each day. Competitions will start at 10am PDT.

ARE THERE TRAVEL, LODGING, AND PARKING RECOMMENDATIONS?

We highly recommend flying into Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) as all other airports are at least 100 miles away from the Las Vegas Convention Center. Evo does not have any travel partners or discounts available. So, book a flight with your preferred airline.

Evo has discounted room blocks at the Resorts World Las Vegas and the Westgate Las Vegas Hotel and Casino. To get to the hotel we recommend the Taxi and Shuttle services available at the airport and throughout Las Vegas.

WHAT ABOUT FOOD AND WATER?

Resorts World Las Vegas, the Westgate Las Vegas, and the Las Vegas Convention Center all have numerous options for food and drink throughout the event weekend. The food court only accept credit card. Vending machines located throughout the venue take both cash and credit card. Outside food cannot be brought into the venue spaces.

Evo will provide each guest with a complimentary water bottle. There will be complimentary water stations available for refillable water bottles. There will be refillable stations near each restroom.

WHERE CAN I GO FOR HELP DURING THE EVENT?

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday you can find staff at the event Command Center on the showfloor in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. If you need assistance or have general questions please visit them.

The event Lost and Found can be found at the Command Center.

WHAT ARE EVO 2024’s SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS?

Event attendees must follow Evo’s Code of Conduct, and the Las Vegas Convention Center entry requirements. You should expect to go through a screening process before entering the event that includes bag searches and metal detectors.

It is highly recommended for attendees of Evo 2024 to wear a mask at all times while at the event but it is not required. If you feel sick before or during Evo, please do not attend.

THESE REQUIREMENTS MAY BE SUBJECT TO CHANGE UP TO AND INCLUDING DURING EVO 2024. EVO RESERVES THE RIGHT TO CHANGE OR MODIFY THESE REQUIREMENTS AT ANY TIME.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING GUIDELINES?

Evo is a public event that attracts local, national, and international coverage.

‍

By entering the event premises, you consent to interview(s), photography, audio recording, video recording and their release, publication, exhibition, or reproduction to be used for inclusion in websites, social media, broadcast and any other purpose by Evo and its affiliates, representatives, promotion partners, sponsors, agents, and anyone else authorized by Evo. Images, photos and/or videos may be used for any and all promotional and commercial purposes.

You release Evo, its officers and employees, and each and all persons involved from any liability connected with the taking, recording, digitizing, editing, publication and use of interviews, photographs, images, video and/or sound recordings. By entering the event premises, you waive all rights you may have to any claims for payment or royalties in connection with any use, exhibition, streaming, webcasting, television, or other publication of these materials, regardless of the purpose or sponsoring of such use, exhibition, broadcast, or other publication irrespective of whether a fee for admission or sponsorship is charged. You also waive any right to inspect or approve any photo, video, or audio recording taken by Evo or the person or entity designated to do so by Evo or Evo’s partners.

You should expect to have your likeness, voice, and the likeness and voice of those you are responsible for, captured via photography and video while you are in attendance. All attendees can capture photos and videos during their experience at Evo 2024, so long as they follow the limitations below:

- Non-professional, non-flash photography and videography is permitted. - No interchangeable or detachable lenses over 3” are permitted. - Flash photography, as well as hand-held, mounted, or stationary lighting, cannot be used- Additionally, stationary photography setups utilizing tripods or other out-of-hand gear cannot be utilized. - Please refrain from blocking walkways or line-of-sight to our stage experiences. - If you are recording interviews please use the edges of the venue spaces.

No balloons, beach balls, frisbees, or projectiles
No illegal drugs or substances
No smoking, no vaping
No flammable liquids, aerosol cans, or permanent markers

No skateboards, segways, scooters, rollerblades, bicycles, or hoverboards

COSPLAY GUIDELINES

Evo is always excited to see the creativity of cosplayers at our events and encourages everyone to cosplay their favorite fighting game characters. We do ask that you follow the below guidelines and keep in mind that Evo is an all-ages event. Failure to do so may result in our staff asking you to leave the event to change into everyday attire.

Shoes are required to be worn throughout
Your private parts must be covered by opaque materials
Costumes must be able to fit through standard doorways and not be disruptive to the general flow of traffic in the Convention Center or Arena
If your costume is particularly bulky, reduces your ability to see, or has wings, spikes, or other protruding elements that you cannot control, please have an assistant with you at all times. Should your costume impact the ability for other attendees to move around safely we will ask you to change clothing
To best identify our safety and security staff, we ask that your costumes not be re-creations of local law enforcement, first responders, security, or government uniforms.
Your Evo badge must be worn and fully visible at all times

Prop Weapons and Replicas

While prop and replica weapons can be carried at Evo, the following are not permitted on the show floor or in the Arena:

All metal weapons
Firearms, ammunition, rifles, shotguns, handguns, blowguns, tasers, laser pointers, laser-aiming devices, or laser devices in general
Explosives, incendiary devices, chemical weapons, and pepper spray or mace
Knives, live blades, live swords, daggers, blades hidden in canes (regular canes are permitted), switchblades, butterfly knives, axes, hatchets, kunai, and ice skates
Metal pole arms, bats, paddles, stilts, and golf clubs
Archery and hunting bows, and arrows
Nunchucks, brass knuckles, and whips

ADDITIONAL ATTENDEE EXPECTATIONS

Anyone visibly intoxicated or otherwise under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be removed from the event spaces. If you do not cooperate with removal attempts, local authorities will be contacted.
No sexually explicit acts, explicit nudity, solicitations, or non-consensual sexualization is permitted at Evo’s events. Anyone in violation of this policy will be removed from the event and barred from future events.
Evo has a zero tolerance policy toward violence, threats of violence, intimidation, and harassment. Anyone in violation of this policy will be removed from the event and barred from future events.
Gambling is prohibited in the event spaces. Anyone in violation of this policy will be removed from the event and barred from future events.
Any unauthorized player trespassing on any of the Evo stages will be ejected from the event at our staff’s discretion.
